Overview

Porichoy ("we", "us", "our") operates as a mobile number lookup service for Bangladesh, accessible at this application. This Privacy Policy describes our practices around information processing when you use our platform.

By accessing or using Porichoy, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the service.

Simple summary: Porichoy is a lookup tool. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not share your search activity with any third party for marketing purposes.

Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required to operate the service. Below is a clear breakdown of what is and is not collected:

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google's OAuth service. This is used solely for your account identity within the app.

Device & Browser Info

Standard technical data such as your browser type, device type and screen resolution may be logged automatically by hosting infrastructure. We do not use this for profiling.

Search Activity

Numbers you look up are saved to your account in Firebase for your own reference history. This data is tied to your user ID only and is not shared.

Location Data

We do not collect your GPS or precise location. Your approximate country may be inferred from IP by hosting infrastructure.

What we do NOT collect: Payment information, government IDs, physical addresses, phone contacts, SMS content, or any biometric data. Porichoy is a read-only lookup tool.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect strictly to operate and improve the service. Specifically:

To authenticate your identity and maintain your account session securely.
To display your search history within your own account dashboard.
To improve service reliability, fix bugs and diagnose technical issues.
To send critical service-related communications (e.g., password reset emails).
To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.

We never use your data for advertising, profiling, selling to third parties, or any purpose beyond operating this service.

Section 04

Third-Party Services

Porichoy uses a small number of trusted third-party services to function. Each is governed by its own privacy policy:

Firebase (Google) — Authentication, real-time database and hosting. Your account data and search history are stored on Firebase servers. See Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com.
LookupNow API — The number lookup data provider. When you search a number, the query is forwarded to this API. The API does not receive your identity — only the number string.
CORS Proxy (corsproxy.io) — A relay used to forward API requests from the browser. Only the lookup number is transmitted; no personal identifiers are sent.
Google Fonts — Used to load the Inter typeface. Google may log your IP when serving font files. No personal data beyond standard web request headers is involved.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, or any tracking libraries.

Section 05

Cookies & Local Storage

Porichoy uses minimal browser storage:

Dark mode preference — Stored in localStorage under the key prd. Contains only "0" or "1". No personal data.
Firebase session cookies — Set by Firebase Authentication to maintain your login session. These are essential for the service to function.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

Section 06

Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information:

All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
Firebase database access is protected by security rules limiting read/write to authenticated users for their own data only.
Passwords are managed entirely by Firebase Authentication — we never store raw passwords.
Google OAuth tokens are handled exclusively by Firebase and are never exposed to our application code.

No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security against all threats. We encourage you to use a strong password and to sign out when using shared devices.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about your account.
Correction — You may request correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion — You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Portability — You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection — You may object to specific processing activities where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Section 08

Children's Privacy

Porichoy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove that information.

Section 09

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users via the application interface or by email where possible.
